CamCarry – The Classy Camera Bag

Chivote CamCarry Camera Bag

Camera bags are notoriously ragged pouches of synthetic material swinging wildly from their wearer’s neck, ironically holstering incredibly expensive equipment that took a massive R&D department to design.  Functional, but not exactly something to be proud to pull your camera out of when snapping those vacation photos.

High-end bag maker Chivote aims to offer an alternative to that with their luxury camera case, the CamCarry.

As we showed last year with the 2Face Backpack, Chivote has a history of designing contemporary bags using experienced leather artisans and quality materials.  The CamCarry follows suit with 100% genuine vegetable tanned Italian leather.

What makes the CamCarry unique is that while it can be worn be over the shoulder like a traditional camera bag, it can also loop around a belt and be positioned at the waist.  This prevents the case from swinging when you walk and puts the camera right in arms reach.  Combine it with something like a Stashbelt and you’re on your way to a full-on utility belt.

Interior

The CamCarry provides a snug fit for most SLR sized cameras that fit within its boxy 5″x7″x6″ frame.  In addition to the main compartment, there is also a small sleeve along the back for a spare battery or SD cards.  Under the top is a canopy of elastic bands for stashing other loose items like the shoulder strap, or cables.

While the CamCarry has a rigid body, padding does seem to be on the slim side, which is something to be aware of depending on your level of activity while using it.

For a limited time the CamCarry can be yours with an (approximately) $89 Kickstarter pledge before the campaign ends.  After that the case will retail for around $150.
