Justice League and Teen Titans are among the most well-known superhero teams. The animated cartoons of the Justice League and Teen Titans have always ruled our TV screens and hearts simultaneously, but they rarely collaborated. Both teams had their plates full and never really came together. Finally, we saw this collaboration in the 2016 animated film “Justice League vs. Teen Titans.”
The movie takes a deep dive into Raven’s backstory, and Damian joins the titans. In this article, we will look at the film’s story and how both the teams came face to face and then worked together to beat the villain.
Justice League vs. Teen Titans
This section will describe the plot and storyline of how Teen Titans assisted the Justice League in this movie.
The film starts with Trigon giving birth to his daughter with a human, Arella. But soon after, his demonic nature is discovered by Arella, who then runs away with their daughter named Raven. Arella takes refuge with a group of people that teleports her and the baby girl to a different dimension called Azarath. We then see a teenage Raven who uses her powers to learn about her father.
Trigon, however, tracks Raven and Arella because of her powers, destroys Azarath, and kills Arella and the rest of the people in this dimension. Finally, Raven is able to capture her father in a crystal that survived from Azarath and escapes to Earth. There she meets and joins the Teen Titans.
Meanwhile, Justice League fights against the Legion of Doom and encounters a possessed Weather Wizard. Damian helps in defeating the creature possessing the Weather Wizard but disobeys Batman. As a result, the League does not get to gather any intel on the creature. Because of disobeying a direct order, Damian is sent to join the Titans to learn discipline and self-control under the tutelage of Starfire.
Damian immediately looks down on everybody and thinks that he is the best leader for the team. This leads to a fight between Beast Boy and Damian, ending with Damian getting injured and almost dying. Raven heals Damian’s injuries and inadvertently bonds with her allowing Damian to see Trigon and her past and seeing flashbacks of Damian’s life herself.
Meanwhile, Batman and Cyborg investigate the previous attack when the same entity possesses Superman. His brutal attack on Atomic Skull alerts Diana and Batman, who then calm him down with Kryptonite. It is then revealed that the creature is, in fact, one of Trigon’s henchmen and is after Raven. Superman then escapes before Batman or Diana can break his possession. Superman is then seen raising a gate from Hell somewhere in the desert. The entire League, except for Batman, gets possessed by these creatures.
Starfire takes the Titans to a carnival where the creatures call Raven, and she goes to confront them alone. She is almost defeated when the rest of the Titans come to her rescue. Raven then reveals her backstory to the rest of the team, and they head to their headquarters. At the Teen Titans tower, they are ambushed by the League, who try to take Raven.
The League beats the Titans, and Raven agrees to go with the League; however, the Titans successfully release Cyborg from his possession. Raven starts summoning Trigon to Earth when Cyborg teleports the Titans to Superman. Damian stabs Superman with Kryptonite, ending his possession, and then releases Diana and Cyborg.
Trigon sends Raven to Hell after arriving on Earth. Cyborg transports and travels to Hell with the Titans to rescue Raven. Damian defeats a demon who appears as his grandfather Ra’s al Ghul and transports Raven back to Earth.
Raven is then able to capture Trigon in a force field and shrinks it to the size of a crystal that she can wear on her forehead again. The League appreciates the bravery and sagacity shown by the Teen Titans. Damian stops Raven from leaving and persuades her to stay with Titans so they can take on any threat that will come their way.
