Plot Summary

This section will briefly list down the plot summary of Son of Batman (2014 Film).

Starting

The movie starts at the “League of Assassins” headquarters, where Ra’s al Ghul has selected Damian as his heir apparent for his legacy to pass on when the time comes.

Damian is training under Ra’s to become the deadliest among all the members of the League of Assassins and carry on the global mission of the League. But the League’s headquarter is attacked by Slade Wilson and a group of highly skilled mercenaries who now calls himself Deathstroke.

The reason behind this attack is Slade’s wish to take over the League by force. Because he was thought to be the successor of Ra’s before Damian’s birth. And after Damian was born, Slade lost all hope of becoming the next master of the League of Assassins. So he attacked the League because of his jealousy and his wish to take over the League.

Slade obliterates the League’s headquarters during the fight, and Ra’s is defeated and burned severely while fighting the attackers. A burned Ra’s al Ghul tries to crawl to a Lazarus Pit in hopes of recovering from his burns and injuries but ultimately dies before reaching the pit.

Ra’s death causes Damian to go berserk, and he attacks Slade and stabs him in one of his eyes. Slade flees, and in the aftermath of this incident, Talia decides that Damian should stay with his father Bruce until she and the League avenge Ra’s death and take care of Slade.

Batman And Damian

Batman is fighting Killer Croc in Gotham when Talia suddenly stabs Killer Croc. She then narrates Slades’ attack on the League’s headquarters and reveals the existence of Damian to Batman. And leaves him in his custody.

Batman takes Damian to the Batcave and introduces him to Nightwing and Alfred. Damian immediately becomes confrontational with Nightwing as he believes that only he is the rightful successor of Batman. But due to his killing attitude towards criminals and Slade, Batman gives him the mantle of Robin to discipline him.

Meanwhile, Deathstroke captures Talia as well as Dr. Kirk Langstorm. He blackmails Langstorm into making Man-Bat formula for his mercenaries by kidnapping his family and tortures Talia. Meanwhile, Batman and the gang infiltrate Slade’s hideout after Gordon’s tip. And successfully rescue Langstorm.

Batman also notices the bloodstains indicating Talia’s capture but keeps this information to himself. While rescuing Langstorm, the group encounters a fleet of Man-bats. To which Langstorm reveals Deathstroke’s plan to create superhuman, flight-capable assassination machines that would follow his order.

And also reveals that his family is being held captive by Deathstroke. Langstorm works on the antidote to his formula while Nightwing successfully rescues his family. Damian receives a cryptic message about his mother’s capture and her current location as well via a video that Langstorm’s daughter shows to the group.

Final Fight

Nightwing successfully locates Deathstroke’s location but while he and Batman are distracted talking to each other about their next move. Robin heads to the location alone. The site is revealed to be an oil rig located inside the sea. He eventually finds Talia as well as Deathstroke in a cave below the bottom of the ocean. And also notices a swarm of resting Man-Bats and another Lazarus Pit down there.

Deathstroke fires at Damian with killing intent, but Talia throws herself in front of her son and saves him by receiving the bullet herself. After this, a fight ensues between Deathstroke and Robin, with the former cornering the latter. That is when Batman intervenes. Deathstroke orders the Man-bats to attack them. But Batman neutralizes the Man-bats by using SONAR emitting devices.

Batman takes Talia to Lazarus pit while Robin goes after Deathstroke. Robin successfully takes down Deathstroke but refuses to kill him, stating that he is his father’s son.
