7. It Started With Death

The Azrael Batman began after Jean-Paul Valley witnessed his father die right in front of him, just like Bruce Wayne. When he got his version of the Azrael Armor, he realized that he had been subconsciously trained and prepared his entire life with programming called “The System.” They did a great job making his story similar to that of Bruce Wayne.

6. He Stepped In for Batman

Many people don’t know that the true Batman needed the Azrael Batman to step in for him when Bane destroyed his back. He knew Gotham needed a hero and he had trained Jean-Paul to do just that.

It goes to show how prepared Batman is for anything that comes his way. He could fight crime, even with a broken back, because he understood that Batman is just a symbol.

5. The Az-Bats Brought Back Batman

4. Azrael Batman Still Alive?

The Order of Purity gave their version of Azrael the Suit of Sorrows. The suit was said to be cursed because it was made from fallen soldiers’ weapons and armor. Well, Ra’s al Ghul managed to get his hands on the suit, and he gave it to Batman.

For a while, the suit enhanced his abilities and made him feel like a real superhero with special powers. But it also began to change and alter his personality. The suit once again showed how human Bruce Wayne is.
